Unpopular opinion...
But, I believe one must choose comfort over style.
And let me tell you, I have tried keeping up with the trends. I've squeezed into dresses postpartum. Made the family moan and groan about their perfectly picked outfits. Been so stressed and obsessed with the final product, that no one enjoyed having portraits done.
Expect for one year. 2021.
The year I had Phoenix, and my new body.
I broke all my own outfit rules.
I wore all black.
There was no color pallet amongst the family.
For God's sake, I wore yoga pants.
But... it was authentic.
To this day, those family portraits are still by far my fav.
There isn't one bit of me that looks back and cringes.
So here is a little inspiration for you, when you're beginning to plan your families' outfits for this fall's portrait session. I have a Pinterest board with some cute casual looks, and a board with more of a comfy casual look, if you're more like me.
Whatever style you choose, just remember to keep it real.
You'll thank yourself later.
